On the second Monday of the Shrawan month, devotees in Kanpur demonstrated profound devotion and fervor. Prominent Shiv temples such as Anandeshwar, Siddhanath, Jageshwar, and Vankhandeshwar experienced a surge of worshippers from dawn. Long queues, some stretching up to half a kilometer, formed for darshan, with devotees reciting prayers and religious slogans.
Many devotees took a holy dip in the Ganga before offering prayers and performing 'abhishek' at the temples. The spiritual flow continued into the evening, with Vankhandeshwar Temple on P Road also remaining crowded. Similar scenes unfolded in rural areas, where devotees thronged local Shiv temples.
Temple management committees had organized extensive arrangements to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees. The temple premises were adorned with flowers for the occasion, and several devotees organized community feasts (bhandaras) at various locations.
