Kankaria Carnival: 52 Kids Lost in Crowds, All Found Safe

The Kankaria Carnival 2025 in Ahmedabad is experiencing massive turnouts, with daily visitor numbers exceeding 50,000. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere and numerous attractions, a significant safety concern has arisen. In the first three days alone, 52 children were reported missing after becoming separated from their guardians, a situation police confirmed was largely due to momentary lapses in supervision during busy moments.

Fortunately, the event's robust security infrastructure proved effective. Comprehensive surveillance systems, including drones and CCTV cameras, coupled with dedicated missing-person and women's safety teams, facilitated the rapid tracing and reunification of all lost children. Several elderly individuals also experienced similar separations but were safely returned to their families.

Police are emphasizing the importance of constant vigilance from parents and guardians, advising them to maintain physical contact with children and to utilize the numerous help centers if a separation occurs. Crowd management measures, including temporary gate closures, have been implemented to ensure visitor safety during peak times.
