Jonathan Ross Reveals Hidden Scar and Painful Japan Dental Disaster

Jonathan Ross recently shared details of a challenging trip to Japan on the By The Way with Harriet Rose podcast. He discussed a noticeable scar on his forehead, a result of a childhood operation to remove a lump, which affects facial movement.

His visit to Japan proved particularly difficult. Initially disliking his Gucci trainers, the situation worsened when he experienced severe tooth pain requiring root canal treatment. The pressure change during his flight caused his face to swell significantly upon arrival, rendering his phone's facial recognition useless. He had to seek an emergency dentist in Tokyo, describing the ordeal as agonizing but ultimately manageable with professional help and strong painkillers.

Ross also touched upon his family's health experiences, mentioning his daughter Betty's ongoing management of chronic conditions. Betty lives with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and POTS, and has found that using a wheelchair has been liberating, enabling her to create memories and have adventures even on difficult health days.
