The historic shoemaking town of Northampton, England, renowned for its centuries-old craft, is the setting for John Lobb's latest innovation. The brand has introduced the Lopez 75 loafer, a design born from an ambitious feat of construction: the entire shoe is fashioned from a single spiraling piece of leather. This method, requiring flawless hides and absolute precision, emphasizes the heritage craftsmanship still thriving in the company's workshop.
The meticulous process involves hand-sewing the curved front and inside seam with exactly 75 stitches, a task undertaken by only six highly trained artisans. These artisans also apply a subtle Roman numeral LXXV to mark the exceptional creation. The loafer features a subtly elevated heel and a sole partly covered in navy leather, balanced by a distinctive penny slot across the vamp.
This exclusive edition of the Lopez 75 will be limited to 500 pairs, available in three sophisticated colorways. The release celebrates the brand's commitment to preserving traditional shoemaking techniques while pushing the boundaries of design, honoring a legacy that dates back to the Middle Ages.
