Singer John Legend celebrated National Dog Day on Wednesday, August 27, 2026, by sharing an endearing video on Instagram. The clip featured Legend dancing with his large standard poodle, Petey, whom the family adopted in 2020. In the video, Legend sang along as Petey placed his paws on him and they moved around the room, before the dog playfully ran off.
The post extended a loving tribute to all the dogs that have been part of the Legend-Teigen family. Additional photos included Chrissy Teigen with their basset hound, Pearl, and their son Miles, 8, with their dog Pebbles. Other snapshots featured their daughter Esti, 3, cuddling with Petey, and a baby Wren with their bulldog, Dudley.
This isn't the first time Petey has been featured in a dance. Chrissy Teigen previously shared a salsa dance with the large poodle in October 2024 for their pet food company, Kismet's Instagram account. The family's deep affection for their pets is evident, though they also experienced a recent loss with the passing of their French bulldog, Penny, in January 2025.
