Jersey Lawyer Wins Inspirational Woman Award

Barbara Corbett, a family lawyer known for her extensive pro bono work and contributions to divorce law reform, has been named the Inspirational Woman of the Year by Soroptimist International Jersey (SIJ).

The award ceremony, held on Friday at the Savoy Hotel in St Helier, celebrated Corbett's dedication to assisting families in need of legal support. Her efforts extend beyond her professional practice, involving significant volunteer hours.

Corbett was among several distinguished nominees, including Magdelena Chmielewska for her support of the Polish community and Danielle Mynes for her work combating gender-based violence among girls. SIJ president Debbie Taylor highlighted the importance of recognizing the numerous, often under-the-radar, selfless contributions made by women.
