Dr. Squatch has partnered with YouTube personality IShowSpeed for an extraordinary nine-week campaign, SPEEDRUN: Million Dollar Mission, boasting a substantial $1 million prize pool. This event, running from August 31 to October 31, spans across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, with more than 4,000 Walmart locations and select retail partners serving as official challenge venues. The initiative features 25 unique challenges, many designed to echo IShowSpeed's distinctive, high-energy style. Participants might find themselves challenged to race random strangers or even bark at Dr. Squatch retail displays.
To enter the contest, participants are required to record their challenge attempts and share them on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, tagging Dr. Squatch and using the hashtag #MillionDollarMission. Beyond the on-the-spot challenges, Dr. Squatch is also hiding actual briefcases in various cities within the participating countries. These briefcases hold special gold bars of soap and offer a chance to win cash prizes up to $50,000, with new clues to be released throughout the campaign. An additional $250,000 is available through 25 winning scratchers, each worth $10,000, found in specially marked TikTok Shop bundles or available for free via the campaign website.
The campaign is scheduled to conclude with a final grand prize hunt totaling $250,000, the details of which remain under wraps. Dr. Squatch Chief Brand Officer John Ludeke explained the brand's decision to opt for an unconventional approach, opting to "hide a million dollars" for fans to pursue instead of a traditional advertising campaign. The goal is to actively engage IShowSpeed's community, encouraging them to participate, create content, and collaborate on challenges. The project was developed in collaboration with MSCHF, known for viral stunts like their Big Red Boots, aligning with Dr. Squatch's recent history of unique brand partnerships.
