Summary
- Face ID failed to recognize an influencer after cosmetic procedures.
- She experienced temporary phone security lockout due to severe facial swelling.
- The swelling subsided after three days, restoring phone recognition.

A model from Rio de Janeiro, Debora Peixoto, found herself digitally locked out of her life following a significant cosmetic procedure.
After investing AU$2,007 in facial treatments, including lip and cheek fillers, Peixoto's iPhone Face ID failed to recognize her due to severe facial swelling. This led to a temporary security lockout, causing distress as she couldn't even call her partner for a ride.
Peixoto described the swelling as intense and unexpected, noting that her face felt tight and unfamiliar. She admitted to not recognizing herself in the mirror initially. The situation resolved after three days when the facial puffiness subsided enough for her phone to recognize her again.
Despite the temporary panic and the unusual experience of being locked out by her own technology, Peixoto stated she does not regret the procedures. She acknowledged that while the final aesthetic result is the focus, the immediate post-treatment healing process can be extreme and stressful.
