- Fans criticized her as "gross" and "selfish" for attending a large event while knowingly having pink eye

On November 11, 2025, influencer and model Madeleine White Fedyk found herself at the center of a controversy after attending her 30th birthday celebrations at the EDC rave in Orlando, Florida, despite having a contagious pink eye infection.
In a "get ready with me" video shared on TikTok the previous day, White Fedyk revealed that she had contracted the eye condition from her husband, Andrew Fedyk, who had dressed up as Fiona from the Shrek films for Halloween using "$2 green makeup from Spirit Halloween."
Despite knowing that pink eye, or conjunctivitis, is a highly contagious infection that causes redness and itchiness in the eyes, White Fedyk decided to proceed with her birthday plans, which involved attending a rave with "100,000 other people." She claimed she would "cover it up with sparkles and some sunglasses" and "call it a god damn day."

White Fedyk's decision sparked a wave of criticism from her fans, who accused her of being "gross" and "selfish" for potentially exposing others to the infection. Many questioned her judgment, with one commenter asking, "Why go to a rave if you know you have conjunctivitis?" Another Reddit user wrote, "Going out with conjunctivitis is a wild choice. Don't touch anyone or anything please. ugh. This is why I don't trust people."
However, not all fans were as critical, with some suggesting that pink eye through an irritant, like White Fedyk's case, may not be as contagious as the viral or bacterial forms of the infection. One person commented, "Pink eye through an irritant (sounds like hers) isn't contagious," while another said, "Viral is up to 2 weeks contagious, bacterial you're good after 24 hours. Stop judging when you don't know."
