Wedding organizers in Indore are combating the intense heatwave with creative cooling solutions for guests attending ceremonies.

Innovative measures include deploying large moving tents, or 'shamyianas,' accompanied by over 20 jumbo coolers. These provide continuous shade and cooling, allowing wedding parties, including the groom, to move and dance comfortably. The hospitality sector is actively managing afternoon events under the scorching sun.

High-velocity jumbo coolers and mist sprinklers are strategically placed along procession routes and at reception venues to maintain guest comfort and energy levels. Catering menus have also adapted, emphasizing hydration with traditional coolers such as keri pana, jal jeera, sugarcane juice, lassi, and various sherbets, often served from mobile carts.

A notable trend is the shift towards 'day weddings,' where main ceremonies like 'saat-phere' are conducted during the 'gau dhuli bela,' or twilight. This approach aims to conclude the entire event within a single day, offering cost savings and accommodating guests' schedules.
