A woman recently fulfilled her mother's dying wish by marrying her partner within the intensive care unit of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. Donna Cummings, 81, who was battling stage 4 liver cancer, expressed her wish to see her daughter Camie Cummings marry Sandy Adams. Hospital staff expedited preparations, decorating an ICU hallway to serve as a special venue for the family ceremony, providing cake and sparkling lemonade. Camie expressed deep gratitude that her mother, a former nurse, could witness and participate in the ceremony, even giving her away. This heartfelt event allowed Donna to see her daughter happy in her final days. Camie and Sandy, who met two years prior in nursing school, shared an incredible experience, with Camie praising the hospital staff for their exceptional care and compassion. Donna passed away peacefully in the ICU shortly after the ceremony, no longer in pain. The couple intends to celebrate their union with friends in April.
