Husky Escapes Gate for Daycare Playdate

In a remarkable display of determination, a Siberian husky mix named Missy executed an escape from her Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, home to reach her favorite daycare. When her owner, Heath Hrappstead, rescheduled her usual Monday daycare visit for a vet appointment, Missy was left at home and clearly displeased.

Missy's escape occurred when her owner's partner left her in the yard. She dug under the back gate, following the familiar route she usually takes on a bicycle with Hrappstead. This was not Missy's first escape; she had previously managed to get through the gate, prompting Hrappstead to reinforce it.

Arriving at the daycare, known as Spot's Place, covered in mud, Missy was unfazed, acting as if it were a regular day. Staff immediately recognized her and contacted her owner. Missy's primary motivation for her escapade was to see her best friend, Shaggy, another dog at the daycare, with whom she shares a special bond.

Missy has been attending the daycare for four years, initially coming twice a week. After the passing of her brother, her visits increased to daily to help her cope with grief. Following her adventure, Missy was safely returned home, happy to have had her day with her friends.
