Man Quits Job To Be Stay-at-Home Dad: Redefines Roles

Amit Kumar Dubey, a mechanical engineer by training, has redefined traditional gender roles by choosing to be a full-time househusband. He dedicates his time to managing household chores, cooking for his wife and daughter, and caring for their child.

Originally employed in Himachal Pradesh, Amit stepped away from his career due to family circumstances and to support his wife. After relocating to Kolkata for his wife's banking career, they returned home following a miscarriage and his wife's subsequent recovery.

Upon their daughter's birth, Amit took on the primary caregiver role, enabling his wife to continue her government job. Despite occasional doubts about not fulfilling eldest son responsibilities, he shares a perfect understanding with his wife, who has never pressured him to work.

Momentarily emotional, Amit draws parallels to helping his mother with chores as a child. He even started an Instagram page to share his experiences, receiving overwhelming love and validation. Amit's commitment to family, partnership, and breaking stereotypes exemplifies that caring for a home is about love, not gender.
