29 Oct
Summary
- The Highland Laddie in Leeds named #1 pub in UK
- 17th-century Kinneuchar Inn in Fife takes 2nd place
- Merry Harriers in Surrey, dating back to 16th century, ranks 3rd

In a testament to the UK's vibrant pub culture, the Good Food Guide has just unveiled its list of the top 100 pubs in Britain for 2025. Topping the prestigious ranking is a relative newcomer, The Highland Laddie in Leeds, which opened its doors just six months ago in April this year.
Despite its short history, the historic establishment has managed to captivate the guide's editors, who praised its ability to "nail the drinking and dining side of the equation." Coming in at a close second is the 17th-century Kinneuchar Inn in Fife, a pub and restaurant known for its beautiful intimate setting. Rounding out the top three is the Merry Harriers in Surrey, a traditional village inn with origins dating back to the 16th century.
The list showcases the diversity of the UK's pub landscape, featuring a mix of countryside favorites and celebrity hotspots. While 12 pubs can be found in London, the majority of the top 100 are located in smaller towns and villages across the country. One notable exception is the Red Lion on the Isle of Wight, the sole pub outside of Britain to make the cut.
