On October 15th, 2025, a pet dog named Rocky in Alappuzha, Kerala demonstrated extraordinary loyalty and courage when he risked his life to shield his owner Thushara from a venomous cobra. Around 1:30 pm, the cobra slithered into Thushara's yard, prompting Rocky to immediately lunge at the snake and prevent it from entering the house.
A tense struggle ensued, during which Rocky was bitten by the cobra. However, the brave canine managed to kill the snake, saving Thushara from harm. Thushara then rushed the injured Rocky to a nearby veterinary hospital, from where he was referred to multiple facilities for urgent care.
Under the supervision of veterinary surgeon Dr. Bibin Prakash and his team, Rocky began to recover after days of intensive treatment. Hearing of the incident, Thushara's husband Subhash Krishna, who works abroad, returned home and went straight to the hospital to be with his loyal companion. Rocky's courageous act has won him praise as a true hero across the neighborhood.
