Inspiring Woman's Final Message: Live Fully

Hannah Corne, a beloved parkrun UK board director and mother of two, died at the age of 45 after a courageous fight with a rare eye cancer. Diagnosed in 2024 with stage four ocular melanoma that had metastasized to her liver, she was initially given a year to live.

Despite the prognosis, Corne set her sights on completing the Ironman Leeds challenge to defy expectations. Though unable to finish the full event due to pain, she valiantly completed the 56-mile cycle and a marathon a month later, describing it as one of her life's best days.

Her final wishes were shared posthumously, urging loved ones to "get outside, climb a mountain, experience life at its fullest, be kind and find a little pocket of joy every day." Corne expressed deep gratitude for her life and thanked those who were part of it, asking to be remembered with a smile during sunrises and sunsets.

Dozens gathered at Leeds' Roundhay Park to honor her memory, remembering her as an inspiring champion who motivated many to pursue their own challenges. Her courage and humor were noted by parkrun UK, which stated she would be deeply missed.
