22 Aug
Summary
- A grief disco event will be held to honor the deceased.
- The event aims to process grief through dance and connection.
- It was inspired by founders who found solace in music.

Jersey Hospice Care is set to host the island's first grief disco, an event aimed at honoring and celebrating the lives of those who have passed. This unique gathering will take place at House of Champions in St Helier on 3 October, from 14:00 to 16:30 BST, providing a safe space for attendees to process their grief.
The event is conceptualized as a way to foster connection and healing through dance music and movement. Organizers emphasize that while not a formal therapy session, the experience can be deeply therapeutic for participants navigating loss. The idea originated with Georgina Jones and Leah Siân Davies in Cardiff, Wales, in 2024, who found personal comfort and healing in dance and music following their own experiences with loss.
