Katalina Daley, a recent graduate from McNeese State University, marked her academic achievement with an extraordinary photo session. The 22-year-old posed with Big Al and Tex, two large alligators from the Gator Country Adventure Park & Sanctuary in Beaumont, Texas. Daley, who has worked at the sanctuary for a year as an animal care coordinator, collaborated with her boss on the creative photoshoot idea.
Daley stressed that she is specially trained to work with these specific alligators, which are featured in daily educational shows. She assured that other trained professionals were present to assist, as is standard protocol when interacting with such animals. Despite her familiarity, Daley maintained a cautious approach, acknowledging the animals' wild nature and potential.
Her passion for wildlife extends beyond her current role; Daley has been involved in wildlife rehabilitation since childhood. She believes alligators are often misunderstood due to negative portrayals in media. Daley, who co-manages the sanctuary's daily operations with her fiancé, considers her job at Gator Country her dream role, caring for over 1,000 animals and educating the public.
