Midway to Staffordshire: Epic Football Journey for Hospice

A football enthusiast is nearing the halfway point of an extraordinary challenge, aiming to dribble a football from Marrakesh, Morocco, all the way to Staffordshire, England. This remarkable feat is being undertaken to raise money for St Giles Hospice, which provided care for his father before his passing.

Having commenced his journey on May 1st, the fan anticipates reaching Rugeley, his home in Staffordshire, by July 19th, coinciding with the World Cup final. He has encountered significant challenges, particularly extreme heat and recently, concerning chest pains that have necessitated a slower pace.

Despite these health concerns and the rural nature of his route, he has been deeply touched by the kindness of strangers. Locals in Morocco provided sustenance, and in Spain, he received unexpected hospitality, including a free hotel stay to recover. These acts of generosity have bolstered his resolve to continue his mission.
