Father's Ghost Appears in Wedding Photos

Mia Chard, a social worker from Utah, made the personal decision to walk herself down the aisle on May 2, honoring the absence of her father, who passed away in 2018. To incorporate his memory, she used his 1970s Rollei film camera, a cherished item from their close relationship. She had intended to capture new memories from her wedding day on a freshly loaded roll of film.

Upon developing the photos, Chard discovered an extraordinary double exposure. The film roll, which she believed was new, instead contained images from her brother's 1999 graduation, with her wedding pictures superimposed. This created ethereal, ghost-like images, most notably one where her father appears beside her as she walks alone. The mysterious presence of the old film roll in the camera has deeply moved Chard, who found the inexplicable occurrence to be a meaningful connection to her father.
