Wednesday marked Kids Day at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, filling Heritage Park with excitement through games and contests. The much-anticipated annual Frog Jump contest commenced at 9 a.m., attracting about 80 participants, according to organizer Allison Pinion.
Pinion noted the diverse reactions of children handling the frogs, from enthusiasm to squeamishness. Sawyer's Country Edge and Hopper's sponsored the event, with Sawyer's providing the frogs after extensive late-night efforts by their team. "We were out until one [in the morning] last night," said Colton Stuckman of Sawyer's Country Edge, describing the challenging but rewarding process of frog collection.
Further entertainment included a 4-H scavenger hunt running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., alongside games like pizza toss and rope-the-cow ring toss. The Heritage Park Stage hosted performances, including a lively show by Epic Dance Studios. The fair is scheduled to continue through Saturday, with more information available at 4hfair.org.
