Eliana, a name meaning 'God has answered,' has ascended to the number one spot for baby girl names in the UK, according to the latest data from parenting platform BabyCentre. This marks a significant change, dethroning Olivia after its two-decade dominance.
The rise of Eliana aligns with the 'Riviera Chic' trend, characterized by names that are elegant, optimistic, and timeless. This trend, along with the 'Gothic Romance' and 'Grandmillennial' styles, reflects a broader cultural shift.
These shifts are fueled by various influences, including popular period dramas, literary classics, and television adaptations like the UK's 'Rivals.' These cultural touchstones inspire parents to choose names that are both memorable and reflect current aesthetic and narrative tastes.
