Summary
- An elderly man cycled 300 kilometers with his wife on a modified rickshaw.
- He endured nine exhausting days to get her specialized medical treatment.
- Their journey redefined love through quiet endurance and unwavering hope.

An elderly man, Babu Lohar, aged 75, undertook an extraordinary 300-kilometer journey in Odisha to secure critical medical treatment for his wife, Jyoti, 70, who was left paralyzed after a stroke. Lacking financial resources and family support, Babu ingeniously transformed his cycle rickshaw into a makeshift ambulance for his wife.
Over nine exhausting days, he pedaled towards Cuttack, sleeping in makeshift shelters and enduring harsh conditions. This physically demanding feat was fueled by his wife's complete trust in him. Upon reaching the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Jyoti received two months of intensive treatment.
Tragically, their return journey was marred by an accident that re-injured Jyoti. However, timely intervention from a compassionate doctor and arranged financial aid ensured their safe return home, underscoring a moment of crucial empathy.
Babu's simple explanation, "Mere liye vo aur uske liye me, baaki humara hai hi kaun," encapsulates a lifetime of mutual dependence and profound love. Their story, shared widely, offers a quiet yet powerful redefinition of love as practical, persistent, and extraordinary in action.
