Vienna Challenges Dull Scots: "Come See Our Fun!"
3 Dec
Summary
- Vienna Tourist Board invited the entire village of Dull, Scotland, for a free weekend.
- The initiative aims to prove Vienna is vibrant during the winter season.
- Residents will experience balls, ice skating, and Viennese culture in January.

In a charming cultural initiative, the Vienna Tourist Board has personally invited every resident of Dull, a tiny Scottish village, for a free weekend trip to the Austrian capital this January. The campaign cheekily aims to settle whether Vienna is perceived as "dull" once the Christmas season ends.
Representatives from Vienna hand-delivered wax-sealed invitations and goodie bags to the approximately 100 residents of Dull. The village, known for being paired with Boring, Oregon, will send its inhabitants to experience Vienna's "liveliest season," featuring balls, ice skating, and its renowned coffee culture.
The invited villagers will enjoy "tailor-made" itineraries, including dance lessons for the Vienna Ball of Sciences, exclusive tours, and opera evenings. Norbert Kettner, CEO of the Vienna Tourist Board, stated the initiative embraces humor while showcasing Vienna's winter magic and vibrant offerings, eager for the "expert judgment" from Dull.
