Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, is in mourning following the recent death of his aide, Nicholas Turnbull. Turnbull passed away on September 16 at the age of 63. Notably, he had been appointed a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order by King Charles just two days before his death.
Turnbull began his service with the Duke in 2019 and was recently seen with him at Wimbledon in July. He leaves behind two sons, Alexander, 17, and Crispin, 14. This personal tragedy comes after the Duke's wife, Katharine, Duchess of Kent, passed away in September 2025.
In memory of his late wife, the Duke recently attended a Future Talent concert. He was joined by family members, including his brother Prince Michael and his three children. The event featured performances by over 40 young musicians, celebrating Katharine's passion for music and people. The Duchess's will revealed she left over £1.4 million, with the majority going to her children and £10,000 to Future Talent, a charity supporting young musicians.
