The initiative originated 13 years ago when Lauren, then a child, wished to donate her Easter eggs to other children at Temple Street hospital after her own experience there. What began with 19 eggs has now grown into an extensive operation, with donations coming from individuals and companies in Ireland, the UK, Spain, and Turkey.
This year, over 1,000 eggs are destined for Temple Street hospital alone, arriving with a police car and Garda escort. The family's generosity has extended to other organizations like LauraLynn Ireland's Children's Hospice and Ronald McDonald House, partly in gratitude for the exceptional care received by loved ones at places like St Francis Hospice.
