Adorned with nearly 140,000 LED lights and crowned by a four-meter angel, the tree illuminates the city and has been a focal point of Dortmund's Christmas market since 1996. Its assembly is a month-long endeavor, drawing hundreds to witness its festive debut.
The lighting ceremony, attended by many locals, marks the official commencement of the Christmas season for the city. Surrounding the magnificent tree are over 300 market stalls, and the tree itself presents a captivating light show hourly.
