Summary
- A French Bulldog swallowed a rubber duck, causing illness.
- The dog's owners were surprised by the X-ray discovery.
- The veterinary bill for the removal cost £3,500.

A Telford family faced a startling veterinary emergency when their nine-year-old French Bulldog, TJ, fell seriously ill. Initially, vets were unable to diagnose the cause of his vomiting and laboured breathing. After weeks of tests, scans revealed an astonishing culprit: a rubber duck.
The Burgwins were alerted by the veterinary team who, after reviewing an X-ray, inquired if any rubber ducks were missing from their home. The outline of the toy was clearly visible inside TJ's stomach on the X-ray.
The cost for the surgical removal of the rubber duck amounted to £3,500. Fortunately for the Burgwins, they had full insurance for TJ, meaning they only had to cover the initial 10% of the unexpected veterinary expenses.
