On Diwali 2025, the city of Mumbai is abuzz with a range of festivities and rituals. The day began with early morning Diwali Pahat concerts, and the celebrations continued well into the night with Kali Puja ceremonies.
Across the city, various communities observed their traditional Diwali practices. Gujarati and Jain traders performed Chopda Pujan at the Swaminarayan temple in Dadar, while the Bengali community celebrated Kali Puja at the Shivaji Park temple. The Kallol Kali Mandir in Goregaon also saw its priests conducting traditional Kali Puja rituals, and the Bassein Bengal Club organized their annual Kali Puja celebration that lasted until the early hours of the morning.
Meanwhile, the ISKCON temple in Juhu prepared for Govardhan Puja on October 22nd, where they will offer 1,008 varieties of food items to Sri Govardhan. Devotees will also bring home-cooked dishes to offer as prasad.
Diwali 2025 marks the start of the new Vikram Samvat year 2082, and the five-day festival will conclude with Bhai Dooj on October 23rd. Throughout the week, music lovers have been enjoying Diwali Pahat concerts, including a performance of the 'Geet Ramayan' by noted composer Shridhar Phadke.
