In a recent interview, actress Shailene Woodley, 33, shared her joyful approach to raising her two rescue cats, Bear and Pharrah. Woodley, who is best known for her role in the Divergent film series, has a deep affection for her feline friends and makes sure to include them in various life events and celebrations.
When it comes to the holidays, Woodley is adamant about involving her cats. "The animals have stockings at Christmas, and stuff for Valentine's Day or whatnot," she explains. "I love including them in life journeys." Woodley also ensures her cats receive new beds and toys whenever she travels for work to different locations, wanting to make them feel at home in every new environment.
The actress's love for her pets extends beyond just holidays and travel. Recalling a beloved dog she had in the past, Woodley says she would celebrate the animal's birthday with extra-long walks and even singing. "I knew his exact birthday," she shares. "I'd take him for an extra-long walk, and I'd sing to him."
While Woodley isn't one to create dedicated social media accounts for her cats, she does enjoy sharing photos of them on her personal Instagram feed, which she says is mostly filled with architecture, animals, and food. "My close friends Instagram Stories is basically only filled with my cats," she adds.
Woodley's deep affection for her rescue cats is evident in her words, as she describes the "unconditional love and gratitude" they have shown her, despite the difficult lives they may have lived before. "The fact that they give me so much of their unconditional love and gratitude makes me emotional because I know how hard it is for me, in my personal world, to trust people," she says.
While Woodley's busy travel schedule can sometimes make it challenging to bring her cats along, she remains dedicated to providing them with the best possible care and ensuring they feel loved and included in her life.
