Devoted Mother of Seven Dies After Sudden Stroke

On November 3, 2025, Emma McGinty, a devoted mother of seven, tragically passed away after suffering a stroke. The incident occurred as Emma was getting her younger children ready for bed at their home in West Lothian. Suddenly, Emma collapsed on the stairs, telling her family that something was "really wrong." Her four-year-old son quickly called for help, but by the time Emma reached the hospital, doctors found that a blood clot had traveled to her brain, causing a severe stroke.

Despite the medical team's best efforts, Emma's condition continued to deteriorate, and she died two days later, with her two eldest daughters, Nicole and Zoe, by her side. Emma's family is now left to grapple with the sudden and devastating loss of a beloved mother, grandmother, and partner.

"I don't think some of us have fully processed it. It was so sudden. It wasn't supposed to happen, and it's affected every one massively," said Nicole, Emma's eldest child. The family has set up a fundraising page to give Emma the "beautiful send-off she deserves," as they navigate the unexpected challenges of life without their cherished matriarch.
