Washington D.C. and surrounding areas are hosting a vibrant array of Pride events throughout June.
New this year, Capital Pride celebrations have moved to avoid conflicts, allowing for a more extended and accessible experience for the community. This shift ensures visibility, solidarity, and resistance.
Festivities include drag queen-inspired cocktail menus at The Roost, and musical tributes to soul divas by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington. Loudoun Pride in Leesburg offers a diverse festival with music, drag performers, and activities for all ages.
The Smithsonian will feature LGBTQ+ artists with crafting activities, while various cities like Fairfax and Rockville host family-friendly events, parades, and street fairs.
Notable events include a "RuPaul's Drag Race" tour stop at 9:30 Club, a Night of Expression at Busboys and Poets, and various Annapolis Pride Month activities in Maryland.
Further celebrations include the Pride on the Pier at The Wharf with fireworks, interactive Pride tours at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and Glen Echo Park's Pride Family Day. Merry Pin hosts book fairs and crafting nights.
As You Are bar presents a "Heated Rivalry" dance party, and Congressional Cemetery hosts its Gays and Graves festival with activist Randy Wicker.
