Rushworth sought out local tattoo artist Red Riz, impressed by her unique designs. While considering various motifs, including the Locarno dance hall, he was particularly inspired by Riz's portfolio, which ultimately led him to commission the Coventry-themed piece. He noted many positive changes in the city since his departure.
