A couple is embarking on a 10-mile "blind walk" challenge on June 21st to raise crucial funds for MyVision Oxfordshire, a sight loss charity. Andreas Findlow, who lost his sight due to misshapen eyes and detached retinas, will be accompanied by his husband, Darren.
Darren has added a personal challenge by deciding to complete the entire 10-mile route blindfolded, with a friend guiding him. He described this as a "little layer of difficulty" to the already demanding walk. The route will begin at Oxford University Rugby Club and follow the river down to Iffley.
Findlow noted that living with visual impairment requires significant mental energy to compensate for the lack of sight, which can be very tiring. He expressed curiosity about his husband's experience during the blindfolded walk.
