A couple who faced infertility due to endometriosis has experienced a double miracle, welcoming their second set of twins. Alisha Young, 25, and Connor Craster, 26, were told they might never conceive. However, they first welcomed twins Lottie and Hattie on November 2, 2024. Just over a year later, on October 29, 2025, their second set of twins, Florence and William, were born, arriving six weeks early on their older siblings' first birthday. This remarkable event means the couple now has four children under two years old.
Ms. Young's diagnosis of endometriosis, a condition where womb-like cells grow outside the uterus, led doctors to suggest a hysterectomy. Despite this prognosis, she discovered she was pregnant, and subsequent scans revealed twins. Their first set, Lottie and Hattie, weighed 4lb 2oz and 3lb 14oz respectively, and spent 29 days in neonatal care. The second set, Florence and William, born on their sisters' first birthday, weighed 5lb 5oz and 5lbs 3oz, also spending 14 days in neonatal care in the same unit.
The couple acknowledges the immense challenge of raising four children under two, managing around 50 nappy changes daily and limited sleep. They recently traded their car for a seven-seater to accommodate their growing family. Despite the demanding routine, they express profound joy and a sense of completeness. They emphasize the importance of routine and a strong support network in managing their busy lives. In the UK, the chance of multiple births is about 2.4%.
