Couple's Peak Challenge for Young Boy's Home
22 Jun
Summary
- Couple climbs UK's highest peaks for five-year-old son.
- Fundraising targets essential home adaptations and a lift.
- The boy has a rare genetic condition called spinal muscular atrophy.

Georgia and Liam Bristow, both 33, are set to climb Snowdon, Ben Nevis, and Scafell Pike to support Sid, a five-year-old boy with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). This rare genetic condition causes progressive muscle weakness. The fundraising aims to help Sid's family make necessary home adaptations, such as a specialized lift and accessible facilities.
Sid's mother, Sophie, explained the urgent need for these changes due to her son's size and low muscle tone, which makes carrying him difficult and dangerous. The estimated costs for the building work and lift are substantial, presenting a significant financial challenge for the family. They are immensely grateful for Georgia and Liam's efforts and the support from the Tree of Hope charity.
