Snake Rescued from Key Ring by Firefighters

A unique rescue operation unfolded recently when a three-foot corn snake, named Pepsi, became entangled in a key ring. Pepsi, a regular participant in animal therapy sessions aimed at aiding children and mental health patients, unexpectedly threaded himself through a metal ring attached to a hospital staff member's lanyard. The incident was described as a complete accident by Sarah Foxall, the owner of the therapy service Animal Tastic and a former zoo keeper.

Unable to free Pepsi from the key ring at home, Ms. Foxall sought assistance from the fire department. Firefighters met her and used specialized ring-cutting equipment to safely and carefully extricate the snake. The delicate procedure was performed outdoors at the fire station. Pepsi has since been successfully freed and returned to his owner.
