Clooneys' French Estate Spared Wildfire Flames

George and Amal Clooney recently experienced a frightening wildfire evacuation from their French estate in Brignoles. As flames threatened the area, the couple and their children, Ella and Alexander, were among approximately 600 residents who fled their homes. While their 18th-century property, Domaine du Canadel, was fortunately not damaged, George Clooney expressed deep concern for the community.

In a letter to the mayor, Clooney described the event as a "terrible moment" and pledged his and Amal's commitment to assisting in the town's recovery. The mayor confirmed that Clooney is expected to contribute to rebuilding efforts, a gesture he has reportedly made in the past. The Clooneys, who were awarded French citizenship in December, have increasingly used their Provence estate as a family base.

Following the wildfire scare, the family made a notable appearance at a dinner in Lake Como, Italy, celebrating the Clooney Foundation for Justice. This outing marked a return to public life after the distressing evacuation, highlighting the couple's dedication to both their adopted French community and their global human rights advocacy.
