Abandoned Kittens Spark Huge Adoption Interest After Christmas Rescue

Five kittens were discovered abandoned in a cat food box on Christmas Day. The kittens, named Brussels, Pudding, Parsnip, Gravy, and Tinsel, were found off Anlaby Road in Hull. Tragically, a sixth kitten, Nutcracker, did not survive.

The RSPCA Hull and East Riding animal centre manager, Carina Porte, described the loss of one kitten as heartbreaking for the team who provided 24-hour care. The surviving kittens have since been put up for adoption.

Adoption applications for the five kittens have been exceptionally high, described as 'overwhelming' by charity staff. Their popularity means they will soon leave the center.

Carina Porte noted that even for those unable to adopt one of these special Christmas kittens, the center has many other animals seeking loving homes, as all cages are currently full.
