The 55th annual Chicago Pride Parade is scheduled for Sunday, drawing an estimated hundreds of thousands to the city for a celebration of love and unity. This year's theme, "Free to Be Proud," aims to honor past advocacy while affirming a commitment to open and dignified living for everyone.
For those unable to join in person, the parade will be available via live stream for the third consecutive year. Both NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago will broadcast the event, beginning shortly after the 11 a.m. start time. The stream will run until 2:30 p.m.
The two-mile route commences near Sheridan and Broadway, proceeding south on Broadway, then turning onto Halsted Street. It continues east on Belmont, back to Broadway, and concludes at Cannon Drive in Diversey.
Leading the festivities are three esteemed Grand Marshals: journalist and historian Tracy Baim, philanthropist and community advocate Evette Cardona, and civil rights leader Mona Noriega. Organizers have also provided additional details on suggested viewing spots and street closures.
