Services at Riverside Resort and Casino's Don's Celebrity Theatre began in 1992, eventually moving to the showroom in 1996, where they continue every weekend. Parishioners of St. John the Baptist Parish, which now has its own church five miles away, often contribute to collections using casino chips or slot tickets. Volunteers, nicknamed "chip munks," redeem these offerings. The mix of locals and tourists creates a dynamic atmosphere, with Saturday evening Masses having an upbeat vibe and Sunday noon services catering to those departing.

This collaboration between faith and entertainment is not new to the Vegas area. Catholic Mass in local casino hotels dates back to 1958, often with casino owners assisting churches. While the Laughlin parish has its own building, the casino setting's accessibility and visibility, combined with engaging pastoral leadership, continues to attract worshippers who sometimes plan their vacations around attending services.
