Yoga With Kittens: Purrfectly Relaxing Fun
1 Aug
Summary
- Library hosts yoga classes with adoptable kittens.
- Sessions benefit KitKat's Mission rescue organization.
- Donations support medical expenses and adoption efforts.

The Abington Community Library is providing an unusual way to relax and support a good cause through yoga sessions featuring kittens. These popular classes, which began earlier this year, offer participants a chance to practice yoga and spend time with felines from KitKat's Mission, a local rescue organization. The sessions are designed to help raise awareness and funds for the cats' well-being.
The initiative was conceived by Judy Detter, the library's project coordinator, who saw the potential to combine her love for animals with community engagement. The timing in August is strategic, as kittens born in the spring are nearing adoption age. Participants can make a suggested donation of $10, cat food, or litter, with all proceeds directly funding the rescue's critical medical expenses, including spaying, neutering, and other treatments. The library hopes this collaborative effort will lead to some of the kittens finding their forever homes.
