Buddhist Fish Toy Meows When Tapped!

A new toy series from China is capturing attention by merging cute design with traditional culture. Pop Mart's Pucky Knock Knock collection draws inspiration from the Buddhist religious instrument muyu, or wooden fish. This series, launched in January, features plush toy keychains that emit an electronic meow sound when tapped on the head with an accompanying stick. The muyu, traditionally used by Buddhist monks to maintain rhythm during chanting, symbolizes vigilance. This modern interpretation has gained significant popularity, especially among younger audiences who find the tapping process calming. The collection includes six normal figures and one secret version, all selling out rapidly.
