Brie's Birthday Wish: 10,000 Brave Gowns Delivered

On what would have been her 10th birthday, the family of Brie Bird is commemorating her life. Brie's journey with recurring neuroblastoma cancer, which spanned five years and was shared with over one million Instagram followers, continues to inspire.

Her mother, Kendra, shared that Brie's birthday wish was to wear friendship bracelets, hold hands, and skip while shopping. In her honor, the family partnered with Brave Gowns, an organization providing gowns to children. The community rallied, sponsoring nearly 12,000 gowns, far exceeding the initial goal of 10,000.

This overwhelming support demonstrated the profound impact Brie's light had on others. Kendra expressed deep gratitude, noting how the community's actions celebrated her daughter's spirit and helped hospitalized children.

Brie's story gained wider attention when several members of the Wicked cast surprised her with a care package and a private screening of the movie's sequel. She first battled neuroblastoma in 2020, experienced remission for two years, but the cancer returned in January 2024.

Brie passed away on December 11 at the age of 9. Her family continues to share their grief and memorialize her, remembering her final Christmas Eve conversation and the sacredness of their family's Christmas tree.
