Fashion enthusiast Srijita Ghosh recently brought to life a dream reception ensemble inspired by Parvati from the film Devdas. Her vision celebrated Indian maximalism with rich textiles and intricate zardozi embroidery.
The chosen midnight-blue sari, designed by Jigar Mali, featured elaborate embroidery and a dramatic drape, complemented by a heavily embellished blouse and shawl.
This regal look was complemented by heirloom-style jewellery and was set against the historic backdrop of Khelat Bhavan in North Kolkata. The setting enhanced the timeless grace of Srijita's chosen aesthetic.
Her husband, Soubik Debnath, a filmmaker, wore a contrasting ivory angrakha with antique-gold embroidery. The ensemble aimed to echo Srijita's look while maintaining a regal contrast.
Srijita described the final look as transportive, a celebration of heritage, femininity, and fashion storytelling. The makeup and hair, styled by Prasenjit Biswas, blended old-world royal Bengali elegance with contemporary touches, featuring dramatic eyes and a structured silhouette.
