16 Jun
Summary
- Panama's Tocumen International Airport ranked best globally.
- Fortaleza, Brazil and Cape Town, South Africa follow.
- Portland International Airport led US airports at 18th.

A new report highlights Panama's Tocumen International Airport (PTY) as the world's leading airport. This recognition stems from its exceptional on-time performance, overall passenger experience, and terminal facilities. Over 20.9 million passengers utilized PTY's terminals in 2025, marking a record year for the airport located east of Panama City.
Following PTY, Brazil's Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza (FOR) secured the second spot, praised for its high experience score and punctuality. Cape Town International Airport in South Africa (CPT) rounded out the top three, dropping from its first-place ranking in the previous year.
Portland International Airport (PDX) in Oregon emerged as the top-ranked U.S. airport, situated at 18th globally. Its high on-time departure rate and positive passenger feedback contributed to this achievement. Utah's Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) followed at 28th, with Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) at 49th in the U.S. rankings.
Qatar's Hamad International Airport (DOH), previously a strong contender, saw a significant drop to 79th place. This decline is attributed to decreased on-time performance and lower scores for facilities and comfort, despite its prior accolades.
