Bengaluru's Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) introduced the Divya Darshan tour in March 2024, a specialized one-day service designed for convenient temple visits. This initiative offers air-conditioned bus travel, departing daily at 8:30 AM and concluding by 6:00 PM from Kempegowda bus station. The tours cover prominent spiritual locations across the city, blending devotion with passenger comfort.
Since its launch, the Divya Darshan service has seen remarkable success, with over 1.1 lakh passengers undertaking 3,165 trips. The service has generated Rs 5.7 crore in revenue, with route DD4 being the most popular. Commuters have lauded the tours for their convenience and organization, highlighting them as an excellent way to spend weekends exploring spiritual sites without travel concerns. BMTC is now planning to extend these popular services to nearby temples outside Bengaluru.
