In a display of community spirit, the residents of Adarsh Palm Retreat (APR) condominiums and villas in Bengaluru hosted a grand 2-day festival to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava last weekend. The event, organized by the APR Kannada Sangha, aimed to raise the bar for state formation day celebrations and showcase Karnataka's rich culture to the area's diverse population of working professionals.
The festivities included talent competitions featuring both Kannadigas and non-Kannadigas, as well as a mesmerizing evening performance of the popular musical dance spectacle Rama Katha Vismaya by renowned dancer Nirupama Rajendra and her Abhinava Dance Company. The celebrations culminated on Sunday with a traditional Karnataka feast and a procession featuring folk dance and music performers from across the state, including Dollu Kunita, Bombe Kunita, Halage Mela, stilt walkers, and Veerashaivas kunitha.
Despite only 30% of the residents being Kannadigas, the rest hailing from across India and abroad, the community came together to embrace Karnataka's spirit. The trustees of the APR Kannada Sangha acknowledged the efforts of over 20 organizers from diverse professional backgrounds who made the Rajyotsava celebrations a resounding success.
