Belagavi Abuzz with Festive Frenzy as Ganeshotsav Celebrations Kick Off

As of August 25th, 2025, the city of Belagavi is in the midst of a vibrant celebration of the 11-day Ganeshotsav festival. The markets in Belagavi are bustling with activity as people flock to purchase decorative items, fruits, firecrackers, clothes, and flowers in preparation for the festival.

With just two days left until the installation of Ganesha idols in homes and public places, the Belagavi market is experiencing a rush of Ganeshotsav shoppers. The district administration has made arrangements for the installation of around 400 public Ganesha idols in the city and 4,000 across the district. Police officials have informed that licenses have been issued for the installation of 1,000 public Ganesha idols in the jurisdiction of the Belagavi police commissionerate, with more than 400 of them to be set up in the city.

As the Ganesh immersion procession is expected to be held on a grand scale, the Belagavi City Corporation is making arrangements to distribute prasad to the lakhs of people who will be arriving from outside the district. This is the first time the city corporation is taking this initiative, which will be carried out with the cooperation of the police department.
