Aussie Tourist Rescues Stranded Cow in India, Wins Hearts Online

On 2025-09-27T14:14:45+00:00, an Australian tourist named Duncan McNaught made headlines for his heroic actions in India. While exploring the country, McNaught came across a cow that had become stuck in a dry drain. Without hesitation, he decided to rescue the helpless animal.

In a video McNaught shared on Instagram last month, he can be heard saying, "No, he just fell in. We're gonna rescue. Let's go. Oh, the sacred cow in India is stranded. It's okay, buddy." After making his way down to the cow's location, McNaught quickly realized that the animal was too heavy for him to pull out alone. Fortunately, he was able to enlist the help of another man, and together they managed to safely extract the cow from the drain.

The video of the rescue went viral, with social media users praising McNaught's kindness and empathy towards the animal. One user commented, "Huge respect bro. We need more people like you in this world," while another added, "Thank you for being kind to that innocent soul. It is good karma."

In a separate video, McNaught, who is currently on a tour of India, remarked that social media has often portrayed the country in a negative light. However, he said the reality is different, as India is a beautiful country with a rich culture, diverse landscapes, and amazing people.
